Another first for Kate -- she got tickled and actually laughed! I was changing her and decided to give her a few little kisses on her neck. Lo and behold, she chuckled. Josh just got to hear her do it tonight. So far she has only repeated the experience ON THE CHANGING TABLE -- go figure!
Auntie Jen lent us the Bumbo, and Kate loves it! She sits in it and watches me make dinner. Tonight she even sat at the dinner table. She's definitely growing up and becoming more interested in the world around her.

She looks like such a big girl in the Bumbo. Glad it's working out. Lydia seems to have forgotten about it this week -- although for days after we left it she would say "Kate the bumbo , Kate the bumbo!"
Where did Jeremy come from and had did he get his name?!
Mr. Jeremy Monkey was purchased by Josh. I insisted that she already had a menagerie of animals, but he thought Jeremy was too cute to leave behind. Josh just named him last night. He thinks he was inspired by Beatrix Potter's Jeremy Fisher, who incidentally is a frog. :-) Go figure.
It will be interesting to see if Kate really attaches to this stuffed animal AND if the name sticks. As a child, Jake had a friend named Jeremy and he said his name "germy." That comes to mind every time I think of kids and the name Jeremy!
I hope she finds an animal to attach to. I still have a Care Bear that I've had since I was little. He lives in the closet now, but I can still get him if I need him!
Cute cute pictures! Do you have multiple Jeremys like Lydia has multiple Pups?
The pictures of Kate in the Bumbo are so reminiscent of Lydia. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you and Jen would both recommend a Bumbo? :-)
Kelley - we certainly enjoyed using ours with Lydia. We bought it when she was around 4 months. The only criteria for age/development is that the baby can hold it's head up on its own. The seat totally supports the rest of their body. It was great for Lydia because she always wanted to be looking around and "involved" in the goings on. (She still fits into it quite easily and lately enjoyed it as a toy before we passed it on to Kate.)Also the seat is very lightweight and not to cumbersome to take along.
Thanks for the latest pics and stories of Kate. I hope there is a way to save all this for posterity; can you back up what you have written on a flash drive?
how fun that she has found a special friend! It's always interesting to see what particular thing a child will attach to. I'm sure the two of them will have many adventures together!
