Saturday Showers

Lydia is really trying to learn how to walk. Forget this inchworm stuff, walking is better!
Lydia looks at the big girl, trying to pick up some tips.
Saturday afternoon, Katie had another shower, this time for couples, at the Hurley's place. We got to meet Emily (Rebecca & Steven's daughter). She was very inquisitive about Lydia and really liked giving her kisses.

Friday night showers!

Katie's Shower was a blast! Good food and good games. The first game was a mad libs titled Mad Libs. I will only say that it had Katie shopping at Victoria's Secret for 49 hours because she was trying to get some ladyfingers to make tiramasu. You fill in the rest. The second game was a variation of chubby bunny. Jennifer had a list of musicians and composers which one by one, each of the girls attempted to communicate to Katie, each time adding one more marshmellow to the mouth. Several girls reached four, but I believe the winners (see who you think they were!) mouthed 7 and were still able to communicate the names. Jen read that some girl at a shower won by shoving 17 in her mouth and still communicating. Yikes! Kelly, I believe, achieved four marshmellows, which at the early stage of the game was believed to be a marvel.
Rebecca was very successful at this game due to the chipmunk effect.
I thought the photographer was supposed to remain unphotographed?
The worst was when you got the giggles. . it made the marshmellows even juicier.
Here goes Jen!

The Bride

Yes, folks, that is what 7 marshmellows look like after sitting inside Katie's mouth as she tried to grunt out names like Sean Connery. She still looks beautiful, though!
Katie was an awesome partner. She cheered on each girl with strict injunctions to "stop laughing."
Thar she blows!

Celery at a lingerie party?

Jen had us play one more game -- passing a stalk of celery from one chic to the next using only our knees. What made things extra hilarious were the height differences. I tried it with Katie once, but it was almost impossible to get her knees at the same level with mine to effec the "knee-off". The celery stalk was progressively chopped off, making the task even more difficult. Of course, compared to the last game, this was a walk in the park.
Amy poses with a very small piece of celery betwixt her knees. . I don't think anyone even attempted that one.
Katie & Martha share a close moment.

Hard to Resist

After being banished from the Lingerie Shower and making a showing at her cousin's 18th birthday party, tired Lydia made her way home. Jen gave her a carrot to munch on (which she loved) and she got to play with Auntie Liz's necklaces one more time. She has more personality every day!
