Baptism Sunday
Didn't realize until I reviewed the pics that Josh was holding little Rach in a football hold. Oh well.Do you see this silly crooked smile by Kate? That's her really trying to smile. It's so funny how these facial expressions that come so naturally as a response to emotion are so hard to control. She still can't close her eyes when she *thinks* about it, either.
My smiley girl -- who can resist such a face?
She turned 2 months this week & had a great checkup. She weighed 11 lbs 14.5 oz & was in the 75% for weight. I don't use those percentage markers to rate her against everyone else, but mostly to compare her to herself! Of course, I never saw any such numbers with her little sis, so this is all quite a marvel to me. Apparently, at her 3 week checkup she was in the 80th percentile. Talk about astonishing! She's also started being much more responsive just this week. She smiles when I talk to her & has started to coo in response. It's very noticeable that she's interacting with the person who's looking at her, holding her or singing to her. I love watching this process all over again.
If I bring Rachel in with me to the wake Kate up, she often asks if I can put Rachel in the bed with her so they can snuggle.
*Psst, I'm telling you a secret. (The first of many whisperings & giggles in bed). Rach even looks like she's listening to a secret.
This is my thoughtful, pensive daughter. How most people probably perceive her outside of the home, too.
Do you want some tea, little sis? No? I guess I'll drink yours then? An egg in your cup? How about some sugar??
Fun in the bouncey seat while sister's not around -- don't tell mom!
She can draw circles -- I think that's pretty amazing for 2.5 years old, don't you?
