Wowzer!
Kate has beefed up to a mighty 10 lbs 10 oz. and 22 1/4 in. Our eat/sleep/exercise regime must be working. (j/k) We had a good doctor's visit yesterday. I always love to hear how much she weighs and whatnot. Dr. M was very pleased with her progress and said she looks really good. She checked her again for any hip displaysia (thanks Kelley!). This happens in a high percentage to babies who are breech. One Dr. told me that it there is some thought that certain babies are breech because they have this thing with their hips. Anyhow, one of the ways they can tell she doesn't have it is by checking that the rolls on her hips and legs are the same on both sides. Who ever thought that the positioning of your chub would ever be a sign that your innards were normal. :-) Kate did really well at the office, and only cried as we were leaving, giving the appearance to those in the waiting room that she'd been tortured inside.

That's great!
I want to have a good reason like that for my rolls!!!
Sounds like Kate is doing great! And mommy too. :)
I've never heard that about the hips. We had to take #3 down to Scottish Rite for all sorts of xrays and what not when he was a month or 2 old because they thought his hip was dislocated from birth. Not sure if that's the same thing or not though that you are talking about. But he wasn't breech either.
For your knowledge it's displaysia. :-)
A girl I work with has a niece who has hip displaysia. I'm not sure if she was born breech or not. She has had to have at least one surgery but thankfully the Shriner's hospital here in Greenville specializes in otherpedic conditions and performs surgeries free of charge. (This is all fresh in my mind as she just had the surgery.) The biggest downside to the surgery (other than the obvious) is she cannot walk for at least 6 weeks.
Very glad to know Kate is growing well and doesn't have any issues with displaysia. :-)
Littlest Kate has some chub rolls! I would not have thought it possible so soon given her size (tiny to me) at birth. She is really filling out and looking very healthy and happy. =)
p.s. Lydia says "hi Katie."
Wow! 10 pounds?? She is getting to be a big girl. 10 pounds was my brother's weight Seth, when he was born. =)
Tia Imee and Tia Jamie are working on a plan to come see you both!!!
Yeah!!!!
