Yes, in response to everyone's queries. . these are announcements. I uploaded the pics yesterday quickly before evening church, and I didn't get a chance to add any comments. I knew the rest of the pics were self explanatory, so I wasn't too worried. I've been working on these announcements for a few days. I was so proud of their collective beauty, that I wanted to take a pic and post. To counteract the sad truth that each person can only receive ONE of these, I decided to share my joy at the cuteness of the combined effect with my blog readers. :-) I haven't done any "crafting" in a long time, so this project has been a lot of fun.
By the way, I have a cute "story" on Josh. He is soo proud of his work in the nursery that every time he passes by (the door is right across from our bedroom), he peeks in just to bask in how cute it is!

I love it! So so very cute. I think Kate should turn around and get a head down view of it!
It's a very sweet room. The perfect place for Kate to call her own (once she learns how to talk).
What's the last picture of? It looks like cards?
The nursery is very pretty. I know Kate will love it.
Great job, Liz! The room turned out great. I, too, am wondering about the last picture. Are they birth announcements? Either way, they are cute!
The nursery looks great! I am sure Kate will love it.
I forgot to add this to my post, but the day the nursery was finished, Kate made her first real attempt to turn around. I told her that we're finally ready for her to come, and I think she's trying to tell me she's finally getting ready too.
I love the announcements. When that day comes for me I'd like to do something like that.
You did such a cute job of Kate's room!! Don't you just love to look at it?? =) Her bedding and furniture is beautiful. AND I LOVE the announcements!!! You should start your own little side business.
The room is cute! I especially like the valance. You did a great job on the announcements! I wish I could see them in person.
Just a thought...do you really want to black out the room for naps? Kate may sleep fine without it...and if you do, she may not sleep somewhere else that's a little lighter one day.
Good thought, Jennifer. The reason I bought blackout curtains is b/c this room gets TONS of summer sun EARLY in the morning. So, in order to control wake up times and the like, plus heat during the summer, I wanted an extra layer. Maybe we'll limit the use during naptime as she gets older, so she can develop some flexibility. What you said reminded me of some advice one of the ladies at church gave Jen. Whenever the baby naps, don't run around shushing the whole house; run the vacuum cleaner to help prepare the baby for sleeping during noisy times as well as quiet times. I don't know that Jen ever did that with Lydia. It sort of counteracts the advice other moms give -- when the baby sleeps, you sleep.
Emma's room gets TONS of afternoon sunlight, and I was worried it would be a problem, but it doesn't seem to bother her. I do think you are wise to try to keep it cooler. However, for this time of year, the heat will be a blessing.
Thanks for the pics.... in no time at all we'll be able to see everything in person! Are you still wanting to paint the playroom?
I might just be the only one commenting here who has seen the nursery in person. It is sooo cute. I had fun shopping with Liz for the beginnings of the decor a couple of months ago. The end result is really cute. It makes me want to do another nursery....=)
Oh, by the way, when we went into the nursery, Lydia spied "Spunky" and immediately wanted to hold the stuffed animal. After giving Spunky some love she introduced her to Pup by smashing their noses together!
