Yesterday, Jen called me with an all important question: "Are you ready to register?" Calmly I answered, "No," and we hung up after some chat. REGISTER??? Are you kidding me?? Well, I decided that since I had neither GCA nor Sylvan today I was going to sit down and do some major internet shopping. As I sit here at midnight, I'm clicking back and forth between Pottery Barn, Target, Babies R Us, Benjamin Moore, and Restoration Hardware. And, at a critical point in my decision making process, the PBKids website decides to have a breakdown! Fortunately, I have their catalogue as well, so I begin cutting up pictures and doing a bit of mix & match. B the B, I did discover something HIGHLY exciting in my random search for paint colors. Benjamin Moore carries a Pottery Barn collection. In fact, their regular catalogue is matched by color to specific Benji M. palettes. So, if you've ever lusted over colors in THEIR catalogue -- hope is in store. All that to say -- I love decorating. I just wish that all of these stores weren't so dang far away from each other, so I could do power comparison shopping in person. I was wondering if anyone knew where the closest PBKids Store was? So far, I've toyed with bedding from BRU -- Wendy Bellisimo Honey Bee collection. I am also toying with two really cute sets from PBKids, both way more girly. We're planning on putting beadboard in the nursery and I'm looking for the perfect paint color for the rest of the wall. One idea is to find a great blue shade and go for blue, pink, and green bedding & accessories. If I go with the Honeybee set, I'll paint the room green, I think. Thanks for letting me brood online! The closest pbkids I know of is at The Forum. And of course the one at Northpoint.
Well the pbkids links don't work for me. I was at Babies R Us on saturday shopping for a girl in our Sunday School Class and I absolutely loved the Honey Bee bedding. I'm sure the pbkids stuff is nice but the honey bee is ADORABLE! I vote with Josh.
All three are very cute (if I'm looking at the right Pottery Barn ones). I don't know that the Bella Quilted one is too grown up. The plus to me on the Honey Bee is that you can use it...if you want...whether you have a girl or a boy THE NEXT TIME. :)
For the record I would like to say that I did not call Liz up specifically to say "So when are you going to register?" She doesn't even have any showers planned yet. I think the "problem" is that she is so small that she doesn't look 6 months pregnant!
Does the Bella Quilted bedding come in a set for crib size? Maybe I just didn't see it...
I think the honeybee set is more "cute" while the other two, esp the Cherry Blossom, are more feminine. All are very sweet. I think it depends on what look you want. A more neutral and casual childish looking nursery, or the more "elegant" and very girly pink and flowers.
I'm sure whatever you decide, it will be adorable, just like your little girl will be!
I wasn't attempting to make Jen sound terrible or anything, it was a good & timely reminder. :-) The Bella quilt does come in a crib set; you can actually look at it under the nursery bedding also. I boo booed on the post. I think it will help me to see these things IN PERSON to give me a good feel for what I really want. Thanks for everyone's feedback.
Liz,
Has anyone offered to give you a shower yet? If not, I will!
Nope, no offers on the table yet. . Thanks Nan!
