Hello everyone,
I was led astray by a website -- I am indeed as of Saturday the 15th, 16 weeks (4 mo.) along. I should have followed my inner mommy instinct. I had an appt with a midwife this time. The appt went really well. The biggest difference was that I felt WAYY more comfortable asking questions than I had with a doctor. The doctor couldn't have been nicer, but there is something about talking to a woman that gives a different spin to the conversation. So, when the midwife and I got to talking about 'belly-hair', there was no embarrassment or desire to pretend that of course I looked like a hair less goddess in my bathing suit. :-) I don't think any boys read this blog, so I feel fairly comfortable talking about it here.
Anyway, besides the personal rapport that I felt, I also had a good visit babywise. I had gained one pound (yipee). I didn't feel that it was that grandiose of an accomplishment, but the midwife seemed content with it. We heard the baby's heartbeat. It was much easier to find this time. Still beating at 150 beats per minute. (Which is good!) Also, we heard a few thumps, which I was informed were KICKS. The midwife opined that my baby was active. You didn't have to tell me that! Our next appointment we'll get to have another ultrasound which may reveal the gender of our little bambino.
I also got an Rx for Xofran to help me cope with the vomiting. Actually, it's supposed to help eliminate the vomiting. It's worked so far and I am really excited about that. But, the downside is that it is a heavy duty medicine, expensive for our insurance co. and just heavy duty for my body. I hope that baby follows Josh's advice and and lets the medicine just pass on by.

I know I am ready for you to feel better...and it goes without saying that YOU are ready for that too! With or without the help of the muy expensivo Xofran, I think you are on the upswing! The fun parts are just around the corner...feeling the baby move, regaining your strength and energy, finding out the gender!! Exciting :)
Belly-hair! umm, look, i think we need to talk. that is not in my files of what to be expected in my blessed years to come. *whispers* is your belly becoming monkey-ish, or are your natural belly button hairs just becoming more pronounced the rounder you get? *end whispers*
SO! glad your days are becoming brighter. yes, i'm so fond of the "old" you. =)
I LOVED my midwife...I would never use a doctor after how well my delivery went with her helping. She did SO much more than a doctor would have done.I would really stick with her if you can.
I enjoy all the pregnancy talk. It'll help prepare me for when I cross that bridge. Now I know about the possibility of belly hair! :-) I hope the prescription helps with the all day sickness.
I don't let random guys search my blog. My blog's not up for random searches. Only if they guessed the name of this blog might they stumble upon it. That's the idear anyway.
I am so glad to hear of some improvement as well!! I bet you will be glowing before long. 20 weeks-30 weeks was my favorite time. We'll discuss after that when you get there =)! J/K Keep taking care of that little bean. Much love

The midwife would deliver at the hospital the same as the doctor would. They are all involved in the same practice, so should any complications occur that they couldn't handle, they would be able to call in a doctor from the practice immediately. They also will accommodate any type of birth plan that you would like from delivering without any pain meds to wanting an epidural and the like.
Apologies to the silent male population that reads my blog. I hadn't had a comentario from a boy in forever until I make some comment about them not reading. Sheesh!!!! I am glad that you guys read, you were just too sneaky.
