and she picks up a pen

Kate prefers pens to anything else, but is pretty good about asking if she can use them before she picks one up and *draws*
She pretends to make lists, write questions, and my favorite -- draw an object of my choice!

K: Momma, what do I draw today?
Mom: How about a tree?
K: (laughs), trees are outside! (as if this means you couldn't draw one)
What else I can draw?
Mom: How about a book?
K: (scribbles) Is a book!
Repeat ad infinitum.

She also gets quite confused if I ask her to draw a picture of Kate -- "I right here, momma!"
She likes to play school, too, and of late, I've been getting this from her:
(scribble) "Here's your queshion, momma."

Note her homemade chair. She likes to tote around my sewing box to various corners of the house for sitting. She discovered it was the perfect height to use at the coffee table.

Keep looking for another freshie fresh post!

She holds that pen so well! We're still trying to convince Nathan to do so...even though he has to at school. His response is "it's harder that way". Caroline is on her way to wrong-holding as well.

Elizabeth, I just get so filled with emotion when I read about and see the pictures of Kate. All these moments and words and experiences are so priceless.
