Alright people, I'm beginning a serious hunt for my new camera. I know that a few of you own DSLR cameras (digital single lens reflex), and I would like to know their make & models AND if any of you guys bought yours online. . . .Thanks, in advance!
By the way, this first week of school has been AWESOME! I love my new classes. Each year, I'm afraid that the dynamic will change so drastically that it will be 'bad' or 'strange' -- but so far, the chemistry in both classes has been great. My students are excited and into what we've started -- which is the BEST feeling a teacher can have. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

My camera is a Nikon D50. I have heard good things about the D40...the newest "general user" DSLR from Nikon. I bought the body refurbished to save some money. I already had the lenses. Over time, I have heard lots of good things about Nikon. One of the things that people really like is that all the lenses can be used (although not will alll functions) no matter how old they are. Now, I'm not planning to go out and buy old lenses, but it's nice to know that mine won't one day quit working if I want to upgrade the camera body. I like my camera body because it has the "auto" functions for us non-professionals, but can also be used completely manually.
I have a Canon Powershot camera, and I love it! I highly recommend it, even though it is a bit pricey.
Good to hear school's going well for you.
Hi Liz
I love my digital camera! I did extensive research before purchasing on a small camera with high zoom, anti shake, white balance overide, and affodibility. What I came up with was the Panasonic Luminix. You saw what great pics it can take. I did buy it online (again after hours of research) at Beachcamera.com. I also heard things about tigerdirect.com. Also overstock.com has cameras. I've boughten several things from overstock and they are very reliable. Dpreview.com is where I did most of my research. They got a great page.
Love you
