Last weekend, Nan Doster hosted a lovely baby shower for me. It was so exciting, albeit a smidge overwhelming. Of course, I've never been one to 'hate' the limelight, but it's even more fun now that I'm sharing it with my little girl. The gifts were so adorable, some practical, some super fun! We received some major items that will really help us not spend the chunk o change I was dreading dropping at Babies R Us. We got our stroller/travel system, high chair, swing, and pac n' play, as well as a number of cute, little outfits. There were a few handmade presents that were are practically heirloom items. I hired a professional photographer to chronicle the event, and she's posted her pictures at her dropshot's website. Just click on Saturday, Oct 21st and you can see the entire collection. Many thanks to everyone who came and made it such a fun event, especially my faithful fans: Kelley, Julie, Beth, Becky, Grandma, Teisha, Anna, and Big Kate. :-) Even you silent lurkers will have a mention here! P.S. I was cursed by a humongous and hideous cold sore for the entire week leading up to this beauteous event. Unfortunately, the curse was still upon me on Saturday even though I did my fair share of praying about it. Thankfully, in most of Steph's pictures, it's not that evident (PTL!). I've never had one before in my life -- why now? why me? Thank heavens for base makeup and cover up, too! Enjoy these highlights, but don't neglect to look at all of them!

Look how cute Lydia looks in some of her new fall wardrobe (AND how un-Ben like). Her inner Jen is coming out.

Here's a good side shot of that bump. It actually might be beyond the term "bump." Amy is holding her most adorable red headed child, Emma Reese.

Here comes the Piggie! I had three pieces of cake!

I was so excited that Becky was able to come to my shower.

Here's the Moseley/Bailey fam with Emma peeking out of the window. I think Lydia is sticking her tongue out at the photographer!

Just me! I recently got a hair cut which I desperately needed. I'm highly pleased with it.

Wow I made the pictures, albeit in the background. :-) We had a lot of fun at the shower.
professional photographer - hA! =) I thought you had a perfect little shower! You are glowing in pregnancy these days. There was a time you looked rather green! =)
I don't think the link is working. www.dropshots.com/smk
Julie and Kelley made me put my child in that family picture...I was forced. Okay, so maybe it was my idea, but they totally were in on it.
I think Emma added her baby charm to the picture. Who wouldn't want a picture with her? :-)
Looks like you had a great shower with great fellowship, food, and a photographer :). I hated to miss it, but I think we are back to the land of the living now.
Great pictures! I hope we get to see you in person at Thanksgiving!
ELIZABETH,
CAN HEAR ME? HOW IN THE WORLD DOES A GIRL GET HER COMMENT IN BEFORE ALL THE OTHER WOMEN IN YOUR LIFE? I WAS WAITING FOR A NEW POST TO BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT BUT EVERYONE BEAT ME! ANYWAY, YOUR PICS ARE SOOO CUTE. I WISH I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO SHARE YOUR SPECIAL MOMENT. I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING WELL AND THAT YOUR LAST MONTHS OF PREGANCY ARE GOOD. YOU LOOK GREAT. LOVE YOUR HAIR CUT. I AM STARTING TO MISS YOUR BEAUTIFUL LONG LOCKS. ANY CHANCE OF THEM RETURNING?
Great pictures. You look fabulous! I like your haircut.
Dad
hello everyone! Thanks for the comments. I posted right before I went out of town with my students for our annual fall retreat.
Kelley, Julie, and Amy -- What Goobers! I didn't suspect SABOTAGE!
Stephanie -- Thanks so much again. I did fix the link, so hopefully everyone can now enjoy as much (or as little) of the collection as they wish. My dad said he looked at all 108. :-)
Imee -- Sorry that you are having trouble beating people to my blog. One thing you don't have is specially written software that gives you an e'mail alert when one of the blogs you read is updated! That's how Kelley and Julie find these things out. About my hair, I had decided to grow my hair out when I got pregnant, but I have just decided that I like short hair on me. . it's a style. My long hair (although I definitely enjoyed it) was much more difficult to make look shapely.
Stephanie got some great shots from the shower. I'm so glad I wasn't trying to capture the event myself!
Liz, you know I like your hair shorter...I always thought it would be cute on you.
Do you really see me in that picture of Lydia??
You look wonderful. Your email is returning all my emails. I wanted to let you know I'm going to india on Monday. Talk to you soon
Jen, I definitely see you in that picture of Lydia. Her profile is so much like yours, especially in pictures of you when you were smaller. I agree with Elizabeth - her inner Jen is coming out!
yes, I agree about Lydia looking more and more like Jen. I believe I commented on that on a previous post even. Of course, it's hard to tell from the pics; hopefully she inherits the musical talent, too! I looked at all 108 photos and enjoyed them immensely.
I am glad the baby shower went very well with you. Also, I love you hair short, it is so pretty.
