Josh and I are attempting to plan a little last hurrah getaway to Asheville. I'm looking for any tips on hotels, restaurants, activities, etc. I've been browsing online A BUNCH and almost taken too long to plan for this trip. I just want a fabulous deal on something truly fabulous! Thanks for any input! We have also considered Savannah, so if anyone has tips on that, let me know.

In Asheville, you must go to The Early Girl Eatery and Tupelo Honey. Tupelo is a breakfast place, and is VERY yummy. Early Girl Eatery is a great place for lunch or dinner.
If you go to Savannah, you must go to Lady and Sons and The Pink House. Both of these are very yummy dinner spots. And be warned, you need a reservation for most anywhere you go there.
Graham and I went to Savannah last year for a long weekend. We didn't stay anywhere special (Best Western) but it was nice and inexpensive so that we could splurge on other things. If you're wanting something more romantic a girl I work with honeymooned on Tybee Island and she loved the place they stayed. I'll ask her on Monday about it.
One thing Graham and I really enjoyed in Savannah was the trolley tour - yes very touristy. But the nice part was we could get off at any stop along the way, walk around as much as we wanted and then get back on for the rest of the tour. http://www.historictours.com/savannah/ (They have a discout if you prepay online.)
For Asheville I have a suggestion that actually isn't in Asheville but fairly close. It's in Landrum which is about 10 minutes from the border in SC. We've stayed in a cottage and in the inn and both were very nice. If you're wanting to stay for more than 2 or 3 nights I'd suggest a cottage as they are much roomier. http://www.theredhorseinn.com/
My food suggestion for Asheville is http://www.weavervillemilling.com/. It's 10 minutes north of Asheville and Graham and I have been each time we've visited Asheville. It's one of my favorite places to eat.
Wow Kelley - you're like a travel agent! I'll make a mental note to talk to you next time we want to make a trip!
Well, as long as you confine your destination to somewhere in the southeast. I am not well travelled outside of that.
However, I do enjoy internet research so for a fee.... ;-)
Oh, here is the B&B recommendation: http://www.tybeebb.com/
My friend said it's only 3 rooms, the bed was super comfortable, the food was great, and the people were very nice. In her words "I would highly recommend it."
She also said it was within walking distance to the beach and lighthouse.
And here's a book recommendation. If you go to Tybee Island get the Cape Refuge Series by Terri Blackstock. http://www.amazon.com/Cape-Refuge-Terri-Blackstock/dp/0310235928/sr=1-1/qid=1159800129/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-9417477-5206438?ie=UTF8&s=books

Wow Kelley. I think you could have your own website. Kelley Red Book or something like that. :-) Thanks a bunch for all your info.
